SUMMARY

How millennium 3 proof is client-centered experiential psychotherapy? Can this orientation adapt to new demands in the changing mental health environment? What effects can we expect of the evidence based revolution? Is it just a hype or will it put client-centered psychotherapy off-side? The focus of this article is on the existential anxiety and survival strategies in the mental health service, on reflections about the evidence based hype, and on successful strategies for client-centered experiential psychotherapy in an (intensive) out-patient setting with complex clients. Client-centered experiential treatment tasks and effects are investigated and help-oriented applications are described.
