Accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy (AEDP) is een integratief model van psychotherapie dat relationeel werk in het hier-en-nu, experiëntiële technieken en een focus op het experiëntieel werken met de ervaring van positieve verandering die in de sessie wordt opgedaan samenbrengt. De basispremisse waarvan Diana Fosha uitgaat is dat ons zenuwstelsel zo georganiseerd is dat we ons beter kunnen voelen dan ‘gewoon goed’ (Damasio, 2018). Fosha gaat uit van een biologisch imperatief om tot bloei te komen en om een positieve energiebalans te genereren. AEDP is transdiagnostisch in haar focus net als emotional focused therapy (Greenberg, 2015), emotionally focused therapy (Johnson & Bradley, 2009) en bijvoorbeeld somatic experiencing (Levine, 2008).
