Process research in client-centered therapy, and its implications for therapy practice

SUMMARY

This article discusses process research in client-centered therapy (CCT), and reports on the
main results. These results deal with process control by therapists, the meaning of the relationship, empathic understanding, interventions in the client process, etc. Implications of
these results for therapeutic practice are discussed.
