SUMMARY

Findings from scientific research on the impact of life events for the elderly, the psychodynamic literature on object loss, and the literature regarding grieving for elderly people form the base on which the author sets out to describe the specific aspects of dealing with loss for the elderly client/patient. Theoretical considerations are illustrated by an extensive case description.
